Greg Jablonski is starting Engineers of Victory: The Problem Solvers Who Turned The Tide in the Second World War
An interesting book that looks at some major questions in WWII: How to get convoys safely across the Atlantic, How to win command of the Air, How to stop a Blitzkrieg, How to seize an enemy-held Shore, and How to defeat the ‘Tyranny of Distance’ and how the U.S. and Britain were able to solve these problems between Jan. 1943 and July 1944. Great insights on solving the engineering problems from the ground up.

Greg Jablonski is on page 100 of 240 of Battle Tactics of the Civil War
Thought provoking book that argues that the Civil War battles were fought using Napoleonic tactics by armies that didn’t quite understand the changes needed for the new weapons technology particularly rifles for infantry. The small unit commanders of both armies were amateurs and existing drill manuals were base on Napoleonic concepts so that’s why tactics stagnated. This book changed my perspective on battles.
