boy am i feeling grateful to be flying through books and to be onto another now that my dissertation is quasi complete ! CHEERS!

can i be honest with you it took me months to pick it back up but i was in a FLOW today so that was good

i enjoy it but i am not picking up a long book for a while after i finish this

just found out that the guy who translated michelangelo’s letters from italian to english and helped with research for the book actually founded the italian department at UCLA and his translations are mostly all still there (I don’t know if they’re still there it has been many years since the book was published) but personally i love being a #bruin

So i’m reading this in italian (i’ve read it before in english—it’s my favorite book) and I’M DYING TO GO FASTER CAUSE I LOVE THIS BOOK but i am taking my time to look up every word i don’t know (which is a lot) 🥲

making progress… interesting read but feeling overwhelmed with the length still 🥲

this feels daunting so for the first time ever i will update page progress whilst reading this book!! despite the length, because it was only written in the 60s i’m finding the modern language refreshing after so much 18th and 19th century lit 😵‍💫 17/755 🇮🇹
