There's something missing from the writing in this book. It just seems very flat, and I can't really get into it or care about any of the characters. DNF

I really like the writing already.

There's a good idea somewhere in this premise, but I'm not sure it's this one. I think it would work better if the FMC and MMC started out as adversaries who had fun, combative banter on air instead of him helping her find her "prince charming." I'm going to give it a few more chapters to see if it's worth finishing but I'm lukewarm at this point.

DNF - I was enjoying it until they got together. It’s just too cheesy

I love this narrator, and I love a good enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, so I'm definitely enjoying

It was ok, not my favorite EmHen. I did appreciate that both characters went to therapy to work on their issues instead of them being miraculously fixed through their relationship. I'm so over epilogues in rom-coms. I don't need it all tied up in a predictable bow.

Great banter but the longing is actually just annoying. They've been friends all through college and their 20s, find each other attractive, and never had a drunken hook-up? It strains belief. This is my least favorite EmHen so far. Writing and narration are still good.

It had it's moments but I didn't love this book.
Pros: Great meet-cute; Relationship obstacles that felt like real problems and not just a plot device; Dual POV with very good MMC narrator; Likeable FMC
Cons: So much lip biting; Worst male voice by a female narrator. Was it autotuned in post production? Took me out of the moment every time Jason had dialogue during a Sloane chapter; Whipped MMC with no flaws

I think this is a case of it's not you it's me. Miscommunication is my least favorite trope, and the age difference/teacher-student thing got ickier as I read. I liked the characters, but I just hate when obstacles could so easily be cleared up with just a follow-up question.

I loved the first book, but I think this one might suck? The writing seems so YA. I'd been looking forward to this book for over a year, and I'm considering DNF'ing at this point.

I loved Beartown, but this one fell a little flat for me. The writing seemed very detached so I struggled to connect with the plot and characters, especially the new ones.
