A really nice change of pace for me. This one is super sweet!

I’m really loving the tension between characters and the authenticity of the characters. The writing is lovely and enjoyable to read.

DNF. I felt Miles character around page 88 didn’t match the character the author built in the first 80 or so pages. Disappointed.

Being a reader of YA books for the past 19 years, this was a new genre for me. As a lover of history (and more recently the history of the West) this book instantly hooked me in. Not too far in yet - but I'm so glad this book was given to me by a friend. It has opened up so many future reading doors!

Miles started off as any man that has been through what he has would be, but wasn't a jerk. Through his experience with Josie so far, I have seen a softening side of him. The way that Rimmer writes these two characters is refreshing, a steady and paced progression. Josie is a strong independent woman, but also has her own problems. You can see Josie starting to learn to ask for help and let others in. All relatable.
