i almost dnf’d this book but i’m really glad i didn’t. i think it had such a slow exposition and introduction to the world and the characters but it’s finally starting to kick off a bit. i’m finding myself actually wanting to read this book now.

god that chapter was so beautifully and painfully written. so poetic in its symbolism and imagery. that chapter alone just made this book so powerful. i haven’t read writing like this in a long while

im not ready to let go of this book yet…

i’m realising the reason i’m enjoying this book so much is bc the characters are quite similar to alchemised… inch resting

ngl the structure of this book is throwing me off so bad. i have no idea what is going on. i’m so confused who is who LOL

the concept of this book is super fascinating, and i am really enjoying it! i actually really like gabriel so far, and that’s weird bc i don’t often like books with a mmc!! it’s also predominantly written in the first person, which you wouldn’t assume when you start the book, but it actually doesn’t make me cringe the way other first person books do!

i don’t have much to say but i’m really enjoying this book so far. the audiobook narrator sounds eerily like ben starr so that’s a plus too

i know this is a fantasy book but the omens feel suspiciously reminiscent of certain bad people in the news lately

haven’t had a chance to update bc i’ve been so busy but i absolutely adore the way this author writes. it’s so poetic, yet full of humour, yet also believable. the dialogue between characters is also so so so fun. i really really am enjoying this book
