I don’t hate it so far. I’m almost halfway through and they’re not stuck on a mountain and nothing has really gone wrong yet. There’s tension building though so I like that. The protagonist isn’t hatable. I’m sensing they’re gonna drop a bombshell on us about Charles because we know next to nothing about the guy really.

I'm really enjoying how we see her grow up through her internal monologue.

The undertones of this book continue to be slimy, but I'm still reading it because it's almost giving psychological horror in a strange way. Like you know this guy sucks, and you can see the manipulation and the general grossness, but you also are in the woman's head enough that it makes sense.
