Definitely not what I was looking for :/

It’s a good book, but I can’t help but notice some of the wording and how it contributes to an unconscious bias — phrases like “black men” to represent the ring wraiths and calling Mordor “the shadow of the east,” as if east is kind of just inherently evil. LOTR really is the fantasy blueprint, but not always good. Just some thoughts so far.

So I’m getting a really weird feeling about this book. Idk if I’m reading too much into this, but the garden cheating scene, immediately followed by the bath scene are reminding me of the article about Gaiman’s assault against babysitters/nannies. Again, maybe I’m reading too much into it but I feel like there are a lot of similarities between these scenes and the description of his actions from the article.

Enjoying this more than I expected. Plenty of parallels between this play and Macbeth to keep me content :)
