How is she *actually* mad at him for keeping the mating bond to himself when she herself had been feeling a traitor for moving on from her ex just the previous chapter? What a ridiculous twist to move into the third act. I can't stand her.

ngl that "stop comparing me to him" line was a bit over the top and I didn't really understand what the argument was about in that scene

So, yeah. There's so much more substance to Feyre and Rhysand's relationship than there was with Tamlin. Rhys is proving to be a much more well-rounded character than Tam, with whom I was often under the impression that he was "supposed" to be a certain way and we were "supposed" to buy it. I have a few notes but, overall, a much more enjoyable reading experience than book #1. I'm hooked.

See, I never really bought the intensity of Feyre's feelings for Tamlin and found Rhysand an infinitely more compelling character. But, as I've read in another review, I do not enjoy being underestimated as a reader. There's no need to suddenly make Tamlin an unreasonable ass to justify the distance between him and Feyre or her pull towards Rhys. Having it happen organically would've made for far better storytelling.

The opening was a bit on the slower side for my liking but we're pushing through and I'm invested! So excited about this one, been meaning to read it for months.

enjoying the story so far, I just wish Poppy didn't feel the need to describe all the different ways Alex's mouth moves and their corresponding emotions twice per page. I get it!!!

that said, Ms Henry's making me let out these little giggles now and then and it's been a hot second since I read a properly light book that could make me laugh. me approves.
