Incredible accomplishment of how accessible Parenti makes the subjects without ever dumbing down ideas. The almost conversational prose helps a lot in the understandability.

I particularly liked the first chunk discussing Hitler/Mussolini's rise to power and how all of their attrocities tie back to economic gain.

The short guy complex is so grating that I want to scream

the main plot is really good but having really short chapters makes it feel choppy when i have to cut away to characters i don't really care about

Joker has the same relationship with Batman as in the Lego Batman Movie :/
