Well I haven't even reached the first chapter and I already learned that the author detests this work which is delightfully discouraging.

Despite it's classic position in literary history, I have absolutely no idea about what I am about to read.

Parris's portrayal of Mr. Collins is wonderfully painful

I ask for tissues and there is a crush as three kids make a leap for the box. They carry it together, like it is a large piece of furniture. They offer it to me and I thrust my gloved hand inside.

I am growing in my appreciation of the movie adaption. I know that for many adaptations, the source material is far to vast to truly do justice within 2 hours, but given the shorter length of this novel, I am yet to hear a major detail that was not addressed in the movie.

I am too old to have only just watched the movie "Princess Bride," but better late than never!

(Part 1/2) Now, this is a slice of life that I can get behind. It's an unfamiliar scenario to me, and I love the sense quietness that this book has. I've noticed a number of reviews who seem to digging for themes.

I have been planning to check this out - what better than an audio book narrated by the warm deep voice of Mr. Bennet (2005), THE Donald Sutherland.

I think I might fair better with this novel, it has already avoided the pitfalls of the past novel. To be frank, I've never been a crime reader, but I do not intend to let that stop me. To broadening horizons!

Not going well so far... I don't think I am the target audience.
