It cannot be stressed the amount of detail, thought and beauty in this work. Cervantes’ ability, and this is no exaggeration, at the same level as Shakespeare, his contemporary. It is certainly true that Cervantes does for Spanish what Shakespeare did for English, and the ability of both is equally unmatched by anything else I’ve read before. I’m very happy I’m taking the time to read it to its fullest extent.
