Wow. I'm stunned, so far.

Re-reading in preparation for teaching AP Lit thks year. It's been eight years since my last read and...I'm more horrified than before. We are closer to this world Orwell describes than I ever imagined.

Reading this book for a class I will be taking this summer. There are a lot of lofty, beautiful ideas for transforming the ELA classroom using arts-based approaches, but this 2017 edition seems a little out of touch. The attention spans of 2025 teens are SO short, with TikTok and Reels and ChatGPT training them to dedicate only mere SECONDS of thought to any task. Curious to see how this is addresses in class.

Chapter 3 was so dense with terms that I simply was not comprehending...but I want to? Maybe I should take some exercise science/physiology classes?
