loved the talk about “fair weather feminism” but i’m noticing my issue with this book is the same issue i had with dune - lots of chat, not much action, particularly political which i know is important but i don’t need a word for word recount im sorryyyyy

just got #diagnosed so this will be a good read

no doubt this book is wonderfully crafted however i’m not sure it’s the type of thing i want to read right now… but we’ll see

john boyne has nailed the child narrator narrative voice - the repetition of learned phrases and rules and mistranslations like “Out-With”, even the simple misinterpretation of the salute - the childish innocence and obliviousness is quite heartbreaking
