I have 40 pages left, and I probably have never cried so much over a book ever?? This is tearing me apart in ways I did NOT expect. Finishing tomorrow

(I’ve been doing more writing than reading these days, but I’m back on my reading bs)

Gah, it’s fun to read such a famous story (even cooler to know it’s written by a woman in the 1800’s). But like, so far everything feels over written. It’s a slog. But there are redeeming qualities and I’m excited to experience the story as a whole!

Been wanting to start this series for a longgggg time. The first 100 pages already caused irreparable emotional damage 😭

I was so excited to read this but I’m underwhelmed so far😭 hot take

I’m enjoying the story- but our FMC is not asking obvious questions which is driving me nuts. To me that is lazy storytelling 🥲🥲 I realllly hope that changes as the book goes on!

This book was gifted to me for my birthday last year and I’m just now giving it a shot…..

It’s rough so far. The dialogue is killing me. Examples:

“Those were mad chill times.” “She was mad pretty.” “Yo, bro!”

I, mean, I get one of the protagonists is 17 but… come on… LOL. I’m going to keep reading and see how the story unfolds!

Picked this up at a book store forever ago and thought it sounded interesting. There’s something special about going into a book completely blind

Needing a fun and easy ✨ palate cleanser ✨ after getting through the Count of Monte Cristo.

The first 75 pages had me, but I’m starting to doubt the story as the book progresses….we’ll see !

Been doing a lot more writing than reading lately. Slowly moving through this behemoth of a book and really enjoying it. I’m only half way through but I’m already sad that it’s over?? There’s something special about reading such a popular novel for the first time.

Okay, I get it. The count of Monte Cristo is super super super rich and super super super smart and the best there ever was. NOW, can we please move on😂

Really enjoying this so far

I read the Hunger Games trilogy in middle school and enjoyed it. Now I’m re- reading to refresh my brain before reading the newest prequels. Really enjoying it so far & the pacing!

Chugging along, underlining, taking it all in😝

Taking my time with this one- partly because I’ve been BUSY and partly because it’s one of those books I just want to read slowly. This book just further cements my love for Steinbeck’s writing
