Amazing to me how much time #ntwright spends explaining covenants and covenantal nomism in "Justification". I seem to've been raised with it.

All of this talk about Second Temple Judaism as a context for Paul instead of our local time as a context really has me thinking about how *I* approach the New Testament as a 21st Century person. Very thought provoking.

Yeah, this one will take a while. Took a half-hour for the first page. :-)

Done with pre-Hellenic supposition and archeology; on to ritual!

Back from the library with awesomeness!

I haven't set up my development environment yet, so I haven't progressed too far. Very different production process than I'm used to, however. Not sure what to think.

Still in the opening pages... Kinda disappointing, so far; not the text (which is very informative), but the conclusions.

I'm glad I know a bit already about the difference between Minoan and Mycenaean cultures, basic Aegean geography, and Greek grammar; the author assumes you already know all of that. I imagine this would be a difficult read otherwise. Tough but incredibly interesting read and so far it's all only speculation on pre-Homeric Aegean religions. I'm excited to get to established Hellenistic cultures.

Holy crap, this is an awesome read! It's course, to be admitted, at times, but it'd feel less real if it wasn't. I'm amazed at how real the people and culture feel. All I can say so far is I'm loving this book!

Mistake on pages. Much harder to read now. RSR held the hair while it pulled the tangles out; ME simply yanks the comb through the tangles.

An amazing book, no tougher to handle than RSR and in some ways an easier read. Early Mormon women are amazing, especially EHS.
