beyond interesting. i can’t wait to continue reading this book.

holy shit. the way the writing perfectly illustrates the tension between these women and their resentments toward one another while also showing their tenderness is insane. i’ve never been so easily drawn to tears. feeling like you don’t know why you’re born or whether or not your existence is a nuisance is an overwhelming disgusting feeling. reliving it was cruel but beautifully done.

just wow. the writing in this book is amazing. i can’t put it down…the way Kawakami writes about longing and the womanhood is insane. i don’t know whether to cry or laugh..

i am beyond excited to finish this book. i’ve never wanted to become a meditation master so quickly.

the tension between felix and alice compared to the growing romance between simon and eileen is to DIE FOR. i look forward to the emails between eileen and alice! i’ve never read anything like their emails and reading their thoughts unfold into this new ideas of existential crisis is forever addicting.

i’m already obsessed with the poetic and emotional writing in this book. Margaret Renkl pours so much knowledge in the beauty of nature throughout this book! I CANT WAIT TO READ MORE. and the art is incredible

IM SO HOOKED ON THE CHARACTER FOILS IN THIS BOOK

I am absolutely obsessed with Mellor’s constant dialogue between these characters. The way they easily describe them with exaggerated comparisons makes the book consistently entertaining. and again the dialogue is *chefs kiss*
