Thoroughly enjoying this third book in the series after not liking Volume II as much as Volume I, so that is a relief. Ceony and Emery are the focus, as are the magic Ceony is still learning and practicing and their relationship, so far, which I like a lot.

Sally Ember is finished with Leaving Time
Intriguing, with many great facts about elephants and psychics' ways of working woven in with mental illness, family relationships and detective work as the teen protagonist tries to find her missing mother, gone 10 years when the story opens. I did NOT expect the ending: hold on to your hats.

Only 4 stars for too much exposition.

Thanks, Jodi Picoult, for another great read.

Just couldn't finish this. It was too similar to the first one. Felt as if it were phoned in. Sorry, but wasn't worth my time.

Still loving this and getting ready to post some tweets from it when I finish! Great companion to Michio Kaku's "The Future of Mind."

Enjoying this more than I expected. Fascinating opening premise: what if you were in a plane crash in which most people died? In the hospital, you couldn't communicate at all and were mistaken for someone else? Then, decisions are made to "restore" your face via plastic surgery to match your not-self? Then, for reasons I can't reveal, here (no spoilers), you decide to continue this charade and become this person?

Some good plot twists and villains, nice relationship between sisters and long-time male/female friends. #RaveReviewsBookClub monthly selection choice.

Into part III and still loving it. Have many quotes I plan to tweets/share soon. This book makes me laugh, frequently, as well as instilling awe, inspiration and curiosity. Excellent reading, even the math and nitty-gritty physics parts (which I do not understand, mostly).

Sort of. I read Intro then Appendix. LOVING this book. He's so brilliant. Fun just to read the list of people he interviewed. I recognize the names of only about 25 and know only 1 personally.

Full-on excellent, but VERY detailed and a bit over my head at times. Then, he becomes practical, metaphoric or funny and gets me back on track. Learning a LOT!

There is a fine line between showing the perseverating/obsessional nature of your protagonist or other characters and being repetitive to the point of boring your reader. I am treading the line often, myself, so I empathize with the problem for authors, esp. of YA lit. However. TOO MANY TIMES saying the same thing is, well, BORING. We get it. She feels X about Y. Her powers are Z. She feels Q about them. Move on.

Still enjoying this enormously. Some great quotes and concepts. One: Dark Matter brings things together. Dark Energy pulls things apart. Ruminate on that one. Also, Multiverse is here to stay. Physicists have gone from "That's nonsense; I hate that" to "I hate that."
