so it's like getting a little more interesting!

if you know me you know the classics and i have a strained relationship but the existence of both mary shelley and this book really frustrates me and my brother bought me a leatherbound copy last year for christmas and it sits on my bookshelf and taunts me so i'm reading this mf i swear to god

decided to go for a book aimed at audiences whose age is in the double digits alongside my quest to reread a series of unfortunate events…

this book just got like insanely gory for a chapter but i imagine it will stop now lol

guys i don't know what it is about this damn book but i cannot read it i have zero urge and yet i feel so determined to claw my way through it idk but i borrowed it from the library so maybe the paper copy will help

unexpected pro polygamy twist

okay so i was at the library today looking for another book but since this is nonfiction it was dewey decimal organized so all music related and…this book highkey got the same cover as the kelefa sanneh book which is why i picked it up. it was short so i checked it out. based on the reviews (didn’t glance until i got home) i may be in for a bit of a ride lol

i wanted a normal book and instead i got a bunch of dead people floating around in space of course

been wanting to read this and i found a signed copy so yolo

if this ends up being an interview from the child of a dead person who has some sort of deep relationship with the main character im quitting taylor jenkins reid (indeed the two books ive read of hers are daisy jones and evelyn hugo)

okay i’m trying it again let’s see how this goes

admittedly, it took me a little while to get into it (even if the wa po quote on the front said its fast paced) but it finally got interesting and i’m intrigued.

to note: mc calls her dad by dr. last name (they’re estranged so im letting it go but noting bc it’s silly)

for both campbell and klara: i’m officially more than halfway through the book and the posted plot has finally started. i really don’t like the protagonist, she just feels like a fake person. i’m thinking very evil thoughts towards her. i like the kid though

update for campbell: so the dog knows how to read and also knows that it should take flowers to the grave. the dog calls the unborn baby “the creature” and speaks to it in the womb. ngl, still enjoying my hate read

update for klara: this feels really unrealistic in the way ya teen romance guilty pleasures do. it’s so unbelievable that this is set in the 50s. also can we talk about how weirdly ugly ppl are??

update for campbell: protagonist is irritating asf lowkey. she calls salt sodium chloride casually. she became a really good rower because she READ A PHYSICS TEXTBOOK. i can’t stand her and im now reading this book out of hatred. but a plot twist arrived and it might be better now, will update later

update for campbell: so i heard this book was a little heavy handed on the feminism and i personally think its a little heavy handed on ALL aspects. i’m also watching young sheldon and it feels like im watching him on steroids. also a romance was introduced way earlier than i thought it would be. so far: ambivalent on opinion but a fast and still somewhat enjoyable so far
