THIS is the kind of sports battle-scene I was hoping for with my last hockey read.

The way this scene is being handled makes me deeply upset on many levels.

I had tears in my eyes by the end of the first page. When I think about what the characters have gone through, I get tears in my eyes again. This book is both heartbreak and hope, a revolution in how I understand my identity and the world around me as a lesbian in today’s society, and learning about the historical significance of the Butch/Femme system truly opened my eyes to a deeper meaning buried in its roots.
