Is everything we do an attempt to choose between the lesser of two evils? Is man, in this sense, born in original sin? Or perhaps just born into a world of "sin," sin being the tragic dilemma of making wrong or less wrong choices, with nothing to approve or condone the choice - nothing but the fruits of the choice and attendant action to decree whether the choice was good or bad. And even, then, always, the doubt.

Wait this is making me so sad :(

The chapter “A Glimpse of a Thursday Afternoon” completely blew me away. The writing here is on another level

What the hell, sure.

Then a miracle occurred in the form of a plate of sandwiches.
Geryon took three and buried his mouth in a delicious block of white bread filled with tomatoes and butter and salt.
He thought about how delicious it was, how he liked slippery foods, how slipperiness can be of different kinds.

Okay now that I finished watching Twin peaks The Return I think I’m finally ready to lock in on this 🙏

So my goal this summer is to read all the books in my apartment and this is probably the biggest/ most intimidating so I think this will be my bedside table book for the next few months ugh it’s soooo big surely they could have abridged these journals just a little bit

Love how the first like 30 pages is just them being like “we love how fat our mom is” lol what also obsessed with how all the character descriptions are like “He smiled with an Irish charm” or “she was pretty but ugly, in an Irish way” like what?!?!
