I don't care how much character development the MMC gets later in the book—nothing is ever going to justify that scene. Growth doesn't erase sexual assault, and it definitely doesn't make me root for the romance.
And I'm sorry, but expecting me to believe the victim falls in love with her rapist? That's where you completely lost me.
This isn't dark romance!!
