Im so confused and why does this remind me so much of the city of brass....

World building, multidimensional universe, detailed Moroccan culture and a bit of romance. The idea is great and has much potential but I am quite disappointed with the final work. I understand now why this has mixed reviews. The way she writes is just not captivating enough (too boring!!). Many parts were too wordy while others were too concise. Hate to say this but it was a no for me and i cannot finish it.
