"We've ingested the patriarchy we grew up with and live in, and it now speaks to us in our own voice." I'm sure some will agree, but yeah.. this book feels like propaganda..and I'm a Green voter. This book is nothing like I hoped it would be. I'm so disappointed so far!

"The inner mother is the warm and loving presence who helps us live through dark nights of the soul (...) when we don't have our sh*t together." Yeah... Feels sexist to me, sorry. :-/

So far part 3 honestly feels like an average history paper on feminism (which is fine..). They say they found a link between optimal confidence and societal systems.. that "had no apparent connection" .. "but then I started noticing similarities". Those two topics had obvious cross-over potential. This book so far feels a lot like "look at how smart I am, but I'm not seeking your approval." :-/

I'm finishing part 2, and honestly, this book feels like a really long ad for her coaching sessions. The writing is okay, separated in small paragraphs for people with short attention spans, but so far, there aren't any new insights to be had. Still, I'm hopeful it'll get somewhere helpful by the end.

There is a lot of unnecessary "scientific data" that would be more appropriate for a thesis rather than a novel. The density of it takes away from the pleasure of the story so far.

So far, I feel he's right. Can't push away unwanted thoughts, which is also part of the mindfulness philosophy: to accept your thoughts as they occur.
