I'm halfway through this book, and am I supposed to sympathize with Archer or something??? Like, he is The Problem. I'm trying to figure out what he could do in the next half of this book to make me actually like him. I'm frustrated and wanted to read a Christmas romance, but this is just annoying.

Oakley's big brain idea is to outsource charitable work to his clients? This story is so White. And you live in Chicago, but I don't think a single Black character has been introduced yet?

I really don't enjoy this writing style or plot, but I do wanna see how the story goes...

I get Paul and Hadrell being from different cultures/species/whatever is bound to cause some issues, but aren't you tired of writing the same story over and over again? Can none of your couples sit and have a simple conversation? Can none of your MCs ask "what do you mean"? Are they all emotionally-stunted 30+ year olds?

Are... are the characters in this series just allergic to reporting crimes? Like are they morally opposed to it or just stupid? "There's no proof he did anything." Cameras, recording comms, the word of a respected doctor??? None of these exist or matter? Also, it's real convenient that solving a misunderstanding gets interrupted just like the last book.

If these two aren't getting scammed by someone who wants to steal Phelix's medical research, I'll be surprised. Literally, these agents are following the scammer's handbook right now. Extreme urgency + unqualified, overwhelmed victims who have something to lose + lack of resources on their part to get the job done? Please.

Are these fake agents? Like how do we know they're actually the real deal?

Almost dropped, but realized like 2 pages after Mina watched Crulden's past gladiator videos that he must be a clone. (I literally went *phew*.) That explains his memory loss and why Crulden's been "missing" 5 years and how he has a completely different personality. I couldn't have read this if he had been an abuser - even if he was now a "blank slate".

This epub from Libby has 40 pages of forward and spoiled half the book for me, but onward I go.

I get it's the theme of the book, but I hate when FMCs are all: "boohoo I'll never be beautiful he'll never choose me cause I'm not pretty LIkE THOSE OthER GIrLS". Please shut up. I'm fat - have been for most of my life - and can say with confidence that plenty of fat women find their prince charmings - you've just got low self-esteem and are unwilling to change your worldview. You think fat=ugly and are wrong :)

I'm trying to read something out of my wheelhouse based on someone else's recommendation. I'm concerned with the first aid and body cleaning that's going on... Why is he using everything you shouldn't under the sun to treat her cuts and abrasions? Why is he using soap... there? Ma'am, please. Protect your ph balance.

Got bored, skimmed to the break-up, and now we're in the grovel/make-up section. I feel like whoever broke Blake's POV here lost steam or lost inspiration cause it's so lacking. So much tell and so little show, but that's seems to be the flow of the book aside from the beginning.

Also, 95% sure at least one of the authors writes gay fanfic. I'd bet money on it.

I feel like Blake's personality is very different from the beginning of the book? Some of it flows well with the story, but other parts feel kinda forced/unnatural. We're also about at the 70% mark where we typically get the argument and short break-up.
