Too early to tell but not looking good. I really can't put a lot of faith in an author whose protagonist is constantly putting new "clips" into weapons. A clip is something that holds papers together or holds your hair back. I'm surmising he means magazine. Some ammo comes in clips, from which they are loaded into magazines for use. No ex military/CIA tough guy would talk like that.

OK, this book is not one of the better written I've read, but it was good enough to keep my interest -- until now. One of the investigators uncovers the perpetrator but then confronts the perp, referred to clumsily as only "the figure," and gets killed for his trouble. This scene is so sophomoric, so clumsily written that the book is ruined for me. I will read no more.

Mediocre writing, uninteresting characters, plodding plot.

40 pages in and this thing is dragging badly. Starts with a murder of an unknown guy, not linked to the story until much later. All the pages in between a plodding introduction to the protagonist(s), who are not particularly interesting or likable. I'll come back and try again later, but this has the feel of a book I will never finish.

Love this guy's sarcastic sense of humor and take on relationships between men & women.

Finally, a decent detective yarn.

Barely started and already bored to death. Obviously aimed at teenaged girls. No need to go on.

Still slogging through. This isn't SF, it's an unremarkable military action story with the odd spaceship thrown in. It's unfolding very predictably.

Sort of slow start. This is clearly a science fiction as an excuse for a military action tale. The style seems aimed at something less that adults. We'll see if I make it all the way through.

This is not one of the author's best. Written in first person it reads like a kid's letter from Sumer can't.

Had high hopes but the prolog was so unbelievably weak I'm not even going to try.

Better now that things moving along. Lots of boring bits, a few grisly parts, but the Ukrainian gangsters are a hoot.

Only three chapters in and the dude gets beat up and captured. Not my kind of super spy.

Raucous and irreverent, and some times the author tries to hard, but fun.

Silly, stupid even, but I'm liking it.

Picks up where volume one left off. Right into the action.

2nd attempt and I can't get into this. Writing style scattered & confusing, no compelling characters or situations. I'm flushing it.

Interesting and fun in places. Drags a bit though.

I just finished Harmony Black (Harmony Black Series Book 1) and gave it 4 stars. A good supernatural cop yarn.

This is a very well done variation on the infected by an alien symbiont theme, and I mean that in a good way. The characters are well fleshed out, interesting, even vibrant. I'm enjoying this immensely.

This is pretty interesting so fat. Seems to be well written. We'll see...

I cannot read this. 1) it is a juvenile, meaning it is written for a sub-adult. 2) the premiss that an advanced race, with space sips to carry millions of refugees, is unable to deflect an asteroid is preposterous, even if it is made up metal and 'something else' so it can't be deflected. 3) the inclusion of totally bogus climate change due to CO2 is just a sop to currently faddish PC bullshit.

This is very good fantasy work. The worlds and system of magic well thought out and fully realized. I can't wait to see how the story turns out.
