The lake scene from the P&P miniseries. Except the hero is stark naked and the herione's fiance and mother are there. And then the heroine's brother and local vicar turn up also naked from swimming in the same pond.

Gosh, the part set at Blackwater kind of dragged but the second epoch closes with one of the best cliffhangers I've ever read, I've got to say.

Probably not very feminist but I do wonder a bit if they'll ever explain where all the blokes are. Gender and pronouns seem to be a thing still and Grace has a male cat. Not sure if the story's just uninterested in including human male characters or if they've all died out somehow...

We're finally properly out if Cornwall! 😆 Reading Maria's love letters is a really surreal experience though. It's probably only because they're my cultural touchstones but they really do feel like Catherine Ernshaw trying to immitate Catherine Moorland or the other way around...
