I don't know if it's the book or the headache from being mildly sleep deprived but it's already feeling overwhelming and like a fever dream

Not me realizing this is the same author that did the Bartimaeus series. I read that and loved it when I was a kid. Huh. Love that for me.

Loved the adaptation and was pissed when I heard it was canceled. Had no clue it was a book series when I started watching it so was very happy when I found out

Oh yeah I'm for sure having my fiance read this he overworks himself constantly and always feels like he's never doing enough

I still think some concepts are overexplained a little too much, but it doesn't feel as condescending anymore. Plus I like Rocky. He's fun.

I get that the main character is a teacher, but I feel like that was a choice made only so the over explaining of middle school level science isn't questioned. I feel a little condescended to.

Most of it absolutely warrants further describing, yes, but it also describes like....really basic shit, too. I don't think this is YA, but it's reading like it cause it feels like the author thinks I'm like....13 or something

Someone put in a hold for this at the library so I gotta read it soon. Might as well be now lol.

This is getting intense

Kinda obsessed with this so far. It reminds me of the fairy stories I used to be obsessed with. The ones where they're mischievous and dangerous if you make the wrong move.

Also I love that this family is cursed with just random ass shit. Like frogs coming out of your mouth every time you speak? Peak annoyance.

One more essay left to go and I think I might have juuust enough tabs to get through it because I barely tabbed the last one.

This is simultaneously validating and challenging my current views on sex and porn. So much to think about that I didn't even realize was a thing but make so much sense.

I am going to very quickly run out of tabs for this one I can tell.

Everything feels like it's happening all at once dang. Finally got more of a grasp on the world we're in. You know when things are basically the same but different in just the right ways where you get confused easily? Yeah that's kinda how it is with this one for me. Shouldn't have been difficult to understand, but it was for some reason.

Anyway things are ramping up and I am very much invested now.

I feel like I'm just now starting to get a grasp on the world building here. This is extremely interesting so far, but at the same time, it feels like nothing is really happening. Not sure how that's possible.

This is such an interesting concept
