I love the training goshawk and the parts of Helen training her goshawk , however the constant comparing to an old book of t. H whites makes it so dry and almost gritty dirty. I can’t go on. I love birds but this story has a sadness to it. Not for me.

I’m finding this book hard going it’s alot of war strategy and war and more war. And the magical parts have become fewer in between. I’m not sure if I’ll finish it I’m finding it very dry.

Hard to start with but now as the characters develop I’m getting drawn in.
