The last lines at the end of each chapter are thought-provoking. The writing style reflects the time period. The book is more thematic than it is plot, character, or atmosphere-driven. It’s still an enjoyable read so far.

The writing style so far is to die for. Nuanced and Gothic. It might be more atmosphere than plot, but its a writing style I devour (first impressions)

First impressions: easy to read, simplistic writing style but does well in showcasing emotion and the MC’s struggles. It’s a book that can be triggering due to the heavy themes it explores. I can tell this book is going to be an emotional read, and I will need to brace myself.
