I can see that people might get frustrated with both Poppy and Alex. It is so obvious that they have feelings for each other. Seeing Alex's actions it seems very likely that he has feelings for Poppy as well. Instead of talking about it, Poppy get into a relationship with Trey and it is not unlikely that Alex got back with Sarah because Poppy got into a relationship. I hope Trey and Sarah don't get too hurt.

“It hurts to want it all, so many things that can't coexist within the same life.” - Poppy thinks about wanting to live the life she has, but she also wants to have Alex in her life. It does not make it better when Sarah previously had mentioned that she had chosen her lot had will marry a man that does not want to hold hands. The thought that Alex and Sarah potentially are that serious scares Poppy.

Alex takes off for his morning run and they do not speak of what happened between them. Poppy's period arrives minutes later, ensuring that she is definitely not pregnant.

At one moment, Poppy wished that she and Alex were alone in Tuscany, that neither of them had meet Sarah or Trey. At the same time she wants Alex to be happy and she is not as fitting to Alex as Sarah is.

Alex also gets emotional and cry. Poppy remember that Alex's mother died during the delivery of his youngest brother so for Alex a pregnancy is not only a life-changing challenge but also a potential death sentence. Poppy comforts him , realising that Alex had seen Poppy cry hundreds of times and comforted her but this time is the first time Alex cries in front of her and that she comforts him.

Alex says that he does not know the practical things of stuff but that will deal with it one step at the time, The first step is to take the pregnancy tests and see if she is pregnant or not. All tests show negative and Poppy cries, because of relief she things but maybe some more complicated feelings too.

Alex asks what she wants and Poppy replies that Trey does not want children. That is not the answer to his question, Alex says. Poppy admits that she does not know and says that she cannot do it on her own. She could not even take care of herself when she was sick with pneumonia. Alex says that she will not be alone, that he will be there. Poppy asks if she is supposed to move in next to Alex and Sarah.

Poppy's panic get interrupted by Alex that asks her if she cannot sleep. Alex usually wakes up early to take morning runs before the sun goes up. Alex gets close to Poppy and then releases her hand to see a pregnancy tests. Poppy cries and panics. What is the hell is she supposed to do if she is pregnant?!

On one of the nights, Poppy feel nauseous and go to bed early. Several hours later, Trey joins her and they are intimate, Afterwards, Poppy realize that she should get her period during the trip but has not. She gets too worries that she takes off to a pharmacy and buys 3 pregnancy tests. Before taking any of the tests, Poppy completely panics and go back and forth around the pool to the villa they stay in.

Trey jokes that if he and Poppy (P as he calls her) would break up, then she would apply to join bachelor. Sarah says that is something she would watch. Poppy feel uncomfortable with the assumption that she would do anything for fame, hooking up with 30 men to then choose one. Alex touches her leg under the table just comfort her and Poppy changes subject with the classic "more wine?"

While guessing celebrities, Poppy asks if it is a reality TV star to which Sarah asks if Poppy really watches stuff like that. Trey adds that he too cannot understand why Poppy is so invested into shows like bachelor. Poppy tries to explain that she likes how people reason to find their love. If they chose the person with best chemistry, have most fun with, or who could become a good father.

The trip goes quite well with lots of food, wine and nice views. Poppy and Sarah could actually enjoy each other's company. Poppy realize that they potentially could have enjoyed each other's company before if Poppy had not been too protective of Alex that she barely left any room for Alex.

Knowing what I know as a reader. I feel sorry for Trey. He seems like a nice guy, but before knowing how nice he is, I already know that Trey and Poppy will not last as a couple. It does not make it better that she said yes because she could fall in love with him. That Trey fitted her like Sarah fits Alex. Alex got back together with Sarah after Poppy and Trey got together. I already know that they too will break up.

Despite the tension between Alex, Trey, Sarah and Poppy, Poppy insists that the trip goes ahead.

Trey had asked Poppy out after they have got home from their first work trip to Hong Kong. One of the factors that lead Poppy to say yes was the fact that Alec had told Poppy that he and Sarah are talking more at work and things seems normal. Alex said nothing about getting back together with Sarah.

Alex and Sarah had brought their cat Flannery O'Connor to the party. The cat makes hiss noises to Poppy and Sarah says that he does not like you.

At one point, Poppy is alone in the kitchen with Alex's grandma Betty. Betty asks if she loves Trey, to which Poppy also replies yes. Then Betty asks if Poppy loves Trey as much as she loves Alex. Poppy decided to no lie and says that there is no love like the love she has to Alex. Poppy wants to add that the same applies to Trey, but before she adds that Betty wishes that Alex knows that Poppy loves him.

One of Alex's brothers jokes about Trey constantly touching Poppy. "Are you afraid she will run away if you let go?" Trey goes along with the joke.

The one time Trey and Sarah had meet each other was on Alex's grandma Betty's 60th birthday party. All of Alex's brothers were there too. It si quite funny that Alex's parents decided to name their sons in alphabetical order. A for Alex, the oldest, B for Bryce, C for Cameron and D for David (the brother who is getting married in the present time line).

Poppy calls Alex and it turns out that he is back texting and calling her when he is alone in his car. Alex is worried about the upcoming couple's trip since Trey and Sarah only meet each other once. Poppy tries to convince Alex that since she loves Alex and that Trey loves Poppy and Sarah loves Alex, then Trey and Sarah will love each other too.

The coupe's trip is to Tuscany. The day before the trip, Alex texts Poppy that he wants to finalize some things. Poppy is afraid that he wants to cancel the trip. Poppy tries to convince herself that this trip will be tension-free since both she and Alex are in relationships and that the friendship between her and Alex is better than ever.

3 summers ago, Poppy and Alex extended their yearly summer trip to a couple's trip. Poppy has gotten together with a R+R photographer named Trey (who was supposed to join Poppy and Alex for their Norway and Sweden trip that got cancelled.) A month after Poppy have gotten together with Trey, Alex has gotten back together with Sarah. Alex says that they are on the same page this time.

When Alex is done, Poppy takes a long shower. When Poppy is done, Alex is fast asleep on one of the beds. Poppy would like to sleep next to Alex but eventually decides to not do that. To not assume that he wants that too or add any expectations on Alex because they made out on the balcony. Poppy and Alex still have not talked about what happened between them and how they would like to proceed.

Poppy and Alex arrive at their new and very colorful hotel. Once in their new room, the first thing Alex asks if Poppy wants to take a shower or if he can go first. She would like to make put with Alex again, maybe even in the shower. However, she remembers that Alex had previously said that he does not like getting intimate in the shower (or outdoors) so Poppy just tells Alex to go ahead.

Before the landlord leaves, he hands Poppy and Alex a note he found the the mate that said newly weds with lots of hearts around it. (The landlord likely had figured out that he likely interrupted a moment between Poppy and Alex as they are both soaking wet when he meet him). The note is from Wifey and Hubby and they included a gift certificate that they had no time to use.

Poppy's and Alex's landlord tells them that it is not only their apartment that has a faulty AC but the whole wing of apartments. He also apologizes to Poppy and Alex as he had assumed that they were just annoying complaining about the AC. He is going to refund Poppy and Alex so they can find somewhere else to stay.

Poppy and Alex stay together on the balcony. Poppy admits to Alex that it has never before felt like that for her before. Alex replies that he, too, has never felt like that before either. They bith agree that they should get intimate again. However, they are interrupted by the landlord knocking on the door regarding the faulty AC.

Alex also says that he has been looking forward to being intimate with Poppy for 12 years! Alex has felt attraction towards Poppy all along.

At the end of the chapter, Poppy realizes that things will be different between her and Alex. They will not be able to be "just friends" after this. They being intimate will can some chain reactions, but she decides to deal with that later and enjoy their moment now.

Poppy also says "I love you" to Alex. First, Poppy is afraid that she might have said too much but Alex says that he loves Poppy too. Later on, Poppy says "I love you" again to Alex, this time on purpose.

Poppy and Alex finally kiss each other! They kiss each other on their balcony in the rain. Alex is so kind and asks Poppy if kissing her is okay for her. Poppy cannot manage to say all she wants to say but at least she can manage to get the message across that Poppy is okay kissing Alex - and she is also okay doing other things with Alex.
