Kind of embarrassing just how adamant Lucy is about not admitting that her and her friends are mean girls. She keeps fashioning a sympathetic narrative to her actions but her version is not believable at all.

Lucy is right about Susanna just using their relationship to piss her mother off. Not a good move and very childish in my opinion, especially since Lucy is deathly afraid of coming out.

This book is so insightful and uses pop culture icon Shahrukh Khan to put forward issues faced by India's women. Loving this!!

This book is just glaringly bad

Ayn Rand has some WEIRDDD notions about what a "macho man" is. Definitely side-eyeing a lot of things in the book.

Roark fighting with clients to not betray his personal principles even though he desperately needed their commission to keep the lights on gave me very mixed feelings because a normal man would compromise when desperate but it's actually great to read about someone with a steel backbone.

On the other hand...Keating is SUCH A POS OMFGGGG. He pisses me off sm. AND WHY DOESN'T HIS FIANCÉ HAVE A BACKBONE??? OMG GIRL

Dominique gives me so much whiplash.

Very sad to think how Kaiji, in her childhood, got so desparate to be seen as attractive and be needed by men (because no one of her age liked her due to Japan's impossible beauty standards) that she decided to befriend and adopt the worldview of a pedophile who preyed on her sister.

Listen, when I picked this book up, I didn't know I'd have to read about a woman meeting her future son-in-law for the first time and immediately thinking that "she wanted to run her hands all over him, massage his balls, feel him harden at her touch."

And i DEFINITELY didn't know I'd have to read her rationalize sleeping with her son-in-law with the reasoning that she was nearly fifty, and that meant it's ok.

Yazz sounds so pretentious a lot of times. I can't read her bits without raising my eyebrows at some of the things she says
