OMG.... loving this so far.

This is so hard to read and difficult to get into. The short sentences and the crass themes in this novel are not what I wanted to be reading at the moment.
I'm sure that had I been in a different frame of mind my review would be more positive.
I'm not one who enjoys books that are mired in religion. One thing I did take away from reading 100 pages of this book is, I am glad to not be in my 20's and dating

Struggling with this one.... I'm not sure if it the genre or the translation I am finding challenging.
I have put it aside for a few days and will get back to it.

Finding this a bit hard going and disjointed. After I looked up Eugenia's info online I can see why.
I will hop in and out of this book as I really want to get to know the character and their story.
How interesting to read of a transgender person from the 1800's. Their life and struggles are very relevant to today.
Will keep you updated as I get further into the book.

Oh no. I am not really up for reading a book that doesn't use quotation marks for speech. I was hoping after a few chapters I wouldn't notice, but at present I am distracted by this.... I will come back to this book.

Whoa! Having to take a breather as the subject matter is confronting and upsetting. The writing makes me want to continue but my mind is unsettled and I am feeling anxious about what is happening to these elephants.

Well I cannot get into Thai book. The characters aren't grabbing me and the style of writing is a little ordinary. Could be the fault of coming off reading a very well constructed and compelling novel.. will reborrow this one at a later date and give it another go.

OMG ... When will this book end.... It has only just become engaging and exciting. But I will have to see it to the end. It is a slog

Whoo hoo ...the end is getting closer. I am so caught up in this book. Heart racing, jaw clenching, hands tensing! I feel like I am about to explode.

OMG....what a wild ride this book is. So much happening. The whole town is imploding. I cannot stop reading.

So far I am finding it hard to put down. Loving all the character development and the building intensity.... However the physical size of the book is proving to be the biggest challenge. I dislike breaking the spine of books, but I may have to with this one.
