All my red flags were accurate! Noah should be booking it out of Marfa but is clearly consumed by grief and guilt. On the other hand I’m not sure what direction Maya’s character is going in.

Everyone and everything in this book has red flags. A married couple meeting with their exes?
A rich man funding a science experiment where all scientists have been dismissed? Unknowingly signing up to be the guinea pig for said experiment? And then being ok with it!? Y’all are playing with fire. There’s no way this ends well.

Loving the humor and depth of this book and its characters! It’s a modern day Charlie’s angels. Really curious to see if their plan solves the issue or if it will carry over to the next book.

Almost done with the book and still no resolution!? A little bummed there won’t be much of an after story. My money is still on Rose

It has to be Rose and if not then it’s Audrey. Someone is lying and I need to know who!

I have an inkling who might’ve killed them but it’s still too soon to tell. I’m convinced however it wasn’t the 3 kids.
Really enjoying how clearly this book is written. When the scene/voice changes there is a clear break in the paragraph.

Major plot twist! Not sure why everyone thinks it’s a good idea to lie to the detectives. It’ll only make them look more guilty, specially with Catherine’s new secret.

First Rose is the surprise child, now she’s the main suspect!? How would she know about the will? We need more info on her, was she in contact with the dad?

Naturally loving this book since I love true crime shows/podcasts. It’s almost like a game of clue, so many possible suspects..who could it be!?
The author is great at separating train of thought, it’s very clear when she switches to a different character.

Although her dad is a lying scoundrel the scene with the boat truly is heart warming. The feeling is so relatable as an only child.

She’s looking for a problem and it’s giving desperate vibes. But what female hasn’t overthought a situation? Maybe this is what the author is trying to point out; we have been influenced to think this way, to worry when a man isn’t 100% for you at all times.

They aren’t going to fall in love and live happily ever after right? There has to be some kind of plot twist…right?

Her explosion at him is the only reason he told her some details but it doesn’t explain why he wasn’t opening up to her. Still don’t trust this guy!

I can’t help but question Gus’ intentions. He doesn’t seem like someone to warm up to people this easily. Is January playing it up in her head?

Back to being drawn out. The ending has been mapped out so I’m not expecting any kind of exciting revelations. Continuing to read in hopes of discovering why this book has such high ratings.

Hallelujah the story is finally progressing! I actually really enjoyed how the author suddenly skipped forward two years without understanding why. Until the story got a little deeper.

Still awaiting some kind of break in this story. Some revelation or clue to what happened that night. Getting very bored but this book must have good ratings for a reason..right¿?

I’m finding it hard to track when she starts talking within herself, to Thalia, to the music teacher, about the past, etc. It’s starting to feel like this is dragging and I’m not sure if I’m missing clues but at this point I’m utterly bored. At what point will there be something new discovered about this murder?

Now the “you” is consistently a third person. At first I thought she was referring to Omar but Joe it’s clear that she’s referring to another mystery man. Someone she thinks may be the murderer.

The true crime focus of this book is keeping me very interested but the main character keeps saying “you” and at first I thought she was talking to the reader but now it’s sounding like she’s talking to someone in her past. It’s very confusing

Why does she think going back to her timeline will cause her to lose Dax as a boyfriend? He’s clearly in love with her in both timelines, she just needs to cross that bridge of friend zone.

She is constantly reiterating the importance of staying just friends and it’s becoming annoying. We understand the situation, we want the spell to work also.

Now it’s becoming a little too good to be true. Dax was weirded out by her one day then immediately seems attached at the hip the next? And all their run ins just seem to be so perfect and meaningful? Wish it was a little more realistic.

I immediately fell in love with Dax’s character. I was so excited to see where it goes with him and Gemma that when the spell happened I became so disappointed! But after the grocery incident it looks like there may be hope. Keeping my fingers crossed

At this point I’m just confused. Louisa’s calling Will selfish and throwing a fit when she’s the one asking him to endure pain and unhappiness for the rest of his life. She has zero empathy and it’s hard to understand how.

We went from touching and emotional to corny and cliche. Hoping it turns back around. I’m imagining all these situations being more emotional if it were a movie but as a book it all seems a bit unrealistic.

It’s been a long build up to this point where I’m finally feeling in touch with the character’s emotions. Maybe because everything has seemed unrealistic? An inexperienced women hired to take care of a quadriplegic? Unlikely. Anyways, the beginning pages caught my attention but since then the storyline has moved very slowly. Hoping we’ve made a breakthrough now

I feel like I’ve been reading this book forever and I’m still unsure what the plot is about.
There is a lot of repetition and run on sentences that make this book feel dragged out.

I’m torn with the Williams’ departure. Yes, on one hand, Civil needs to carry on with her life and stop involving herself in theirs but they also just went through a life changing moment together. How could she not feel like that’s her family too?

Yep they’re forcing this Mace storyline. What’s wrong with Ty? He’s so sweet and quirky.
