meh

idk if i can read this it’s a little too my childhood

the gordon chapters are far too familiar and kind of hurt to read. very very reminiscent of how it was before my mum left my dad and jack didn’t understand why we wanted to leave

really cool concept

i love this book

so sick of the island descriptions they’re too difficult to picture just get to the good bit

so glad i didn’t read this in school bc the descriptions of the island are so impossible to imagine like i can’t see it in my head at all i can’t make sense of it

genuinely incredible best book i’ve ever read it’s life changing i think

unbelievably good. still no actual details of the school shooting but it’s so incredible reading the mums perspective and experience of the aftermath and all the regrets and signs she missed or signs she saw and no one listened and ugh it’s just amazing i love how it’s written. so genius

it’s written so beautifully & not what i expected. every chapter is a letter to her husband from her pov looking back throughout kevin’s life and we’re still only at kevin being a baby but the way it’s written is so addictive. i thought id get bored if it wasn’t straight away the school shooting and drama but the way it’s building up is amazing it’s so well written. making me think lots abt motherhood

a boy is a dangerous animal

very relieved learning the author is a woman. lionel is an awful name for a woman
