Listening on audio and so far it is just… meh. Also Reese reads her parts weirdly slow.

I’m for sure not going to finish this before book club this week… it’s good but I need to have a lot more time to put into reading it and I do not have that right now…

Okay so fair warning… I am not enjoying this. I don’t hate it though to stop at this point. But this one is not hitting the mark for me… full review to come.

This started strong. The second quarter of the book is harder for me to get through. Disturbing and sad. The first quarter is too, but it’s more vague. The second quarter goes into more detail. It’s getting harder for me to want to pick it up or keep reading.

I love Elin’s previous books. I love how she writes. This one is slightly disappointing… there are some scenes and topics which I simply find annoying. It almost feels like they tried to fit as many “progressive” topics as possible. And the weird romance stuff… I appreciated that Elin never focused too hard on that… so why is it suddenly appearing in a book she’s writing with her college aged daughter?!

Made it about half away through the audio version and had to return. This is a long, beautiful story of a family in India. It’s read by the author and is extremely well done. Looking forward to having the chance to finish this when it becomes available again.

I am only one hour into this (listening on audiobook) and I just want to tell everyone that it is by far the best audiobook I’ve ever listened to, and it’s also the best book or story about 9/11 I’ve ever read. Get this and listen to it.

Looking forward to joining a few friends this month reading through this book. We are having a particularly tough time with one of our toddlers and I hope this book gives us the tools to better parent him the way he needs us to.
