i HATE the main character. Other reviewers have described her as caustic, that's not the problem, the problem is how she seems to be intentionally making things worse.

Still eating it up but every time I pick it up the phone rings or someone wants to talk to me, starting to think it's a little cursed.

Not sure where this is going but I'm enjoying the ride!

This is not great. The story is interesting but the writing style is awful. The verb tenses are often wacky, the way people speak is an odd mix of French from France, international French and Québécois French in a way that's not nearly as fun as one would think, it's like it's trying to be frol everywhere so it ends up being from nowhere. I already know I'm yeeting it in tbe donation bin as soon as possible.

The author is funny but these essays lack a little meat

Yeah, this one is another one that could have been written just for me. Decay, desolation, liminality, alienation from one's own body, you know what I'm constantly looking for in zombie fiction/body horror.

It's definitely delivering the decay I was promised

I keep wanting to scream at this girl "you can't be a true crime girlie and not know that you DON'T SPEAK TO THE COPS WITHOUT A LAWYER, especially if you haven't done anything wrong!!!!"

I think I need to buy a physical copy of this one so I can annotate!

This one is sad, beautiful, and so so good.

I'm 60 pages into this one and EATING IT UP. The writing style is so solid.

After spending some time with Blue Plague, I miss this book a lot and it feels like I haven't read it in weeks (I read some of it this morning).

For the love of all things zombie, just stop dick riding Bruce for 5 minutes and focus on the story.

The way I would be so much further along with this one if I had only gotten the ebook!

Gahhh I don't know how much more of these boring ass people I can take. We get it, they are your perfect conservative prepper family, they're rigid as all get outs and ready, WE GET IT, can we move along and get a crumb of plot already?

Not much of a fan of going back and forth in time but I have to give it to Mahoney, he timed the back and forth in just the right way to keep me invested. It was interesting enough to finish but the ending could have been done in a tidier, more satisfying way. As it is, the ending felt rushed.

For some reason I had not expected this one to veer into a talk about the porn industry 😅

I should have gotten a digital copy!!!
