I’ve been annoyed with this book because of miscommunication, lies, waffling back and forth. I love these characters, this world that’s been built, and everything that’s happened BUT WHY CANT THEY COMMUNICATE.

Already obsessed and ready to finish BUT ALSO I don’t want this to end. I’ve loved re reading the first 3 books in preparation for this so I truly remembered everything … here we go!

This is sadder than I thought it would be and my brain didn’t want sad while on vacation … so I’m reading it rather slowly.

I can already tell I’m going to love this … early 1900s NYC … well guess who just saw a Musical called Ragtime which was the exact same timeframe and location … the book already mentioned several historical figures in common with the show. I love all the connections between art and books!

So far this is much better than I thought it would be!

I feel the need to update that I am on the home stretch of this insanely huge and long book! I swear it’s a textbook … not sure why I didn’t realize this beforehand but GO ME!

I’ll also state, I’ve learned SO MUCH and would like to add a little plug for my maybe relative named Giovanni Battista Grassi who was a malariologist in Italy and was one of the lead scientists to discovery malaria transmission!!

Banned Book #2 … already halfway through. Why did I not read this before?! I have to say listening to it on audiobook is incredible. I love how the actor portrays each of the characters and I’m already in love with this book.

Quick update because this book has taken me a while to get through. I started it a few weeks ago and had to pause because the beginning was slow and I wasn’t really feeling it. BUT NOW … I love the chapter structure, the POVs, and the McCarthy Era Red scare … I just had a long chat with my grandma about how scary that time was and it really put everything into perspective … now I just want to know the end!
