Main character is definitely main charactering. I love a good training montage, and I can forgive the simplicity of the descriptions because not only is writing action scenes difficult but this is also a YA novel. Absolutely love Kelsier and Sazed, hope I don't regret trusting them. Vin's inner dialogue and characterization can get on my nerves, but again, YA novel, and overall she is very well written. Good stuff

Ocean's 11 but make it fantasy. Magical system is, indeed, as interesting as everyone says it is.

Maybe it's because I've been reading classics recently so I'm used to older, English writing, but oh my GOD I find this writing style to be utterly atrocious. It's so cliche. Romance tends to be, but this book in particular so far is fanfiction level writing. Still holding out hope that the plot will be good enough that I can look past it since it's rated so highly and written by such a popular author.
