Ugh, works like this are so important

Gotta appreciate such a good use of dialect so far. Super long-winded but the descriptions are so fantastic and it just makes me laugh. This reads like your grandpa who had a never-ending pool of stories from his 20s and 30s that you listen to him ramble about during Thanksgiving.

Writing is fantastic so far, very artful (Ren-coded). Everyone read more translations! They are good and we learn more! 👏

Main character is definitely main charactering. I love a good training montage, and I can forgive the simplicity of the descriptions because not only is writing action scenes difficult but this is also a YA novel. Absolutely love Kelsier and Sazed, hope I don't regret trusting them. Vin's inner dialogue and characterization can get on my nerves, but again, YA novel, and overall she is very well written. Good stuff

Ocean's 11 but make it fantasy. Magical system is, indeed, as interesting as everyone says it is.
