I am about halfway through and really like this. It feels relevant to the times even though it is set in the 1800s and deals with slavery. I like the portrayal of the main character's struggle with self preservation and protecting those she cares about.

I am having a hard time getting started on the book club picks this month but was able to get a hold of this from the library. This one seems like it could be good.
