Silvia Moreno-Garcia can write any genre. I am pleasantly surprised by how much I am enjoying this book - it's right up my alley with period-piece drama and a touch of magic.

Interesting book so far. Plants have always fascinated me. But this book has some dense paragraphs and getting through some parts is quite a slog.

I knew in the beginning when the narrator said he would be honest that he would not be... And yet all of the misinformation and sleight of hand and trickery to withhold information from the reader while still "technically" being honest is honestly annoying me

What am I doing reading another murder mystery after the last one disappointed me? I'm not entirely sure. Maybe I want to wipe the other one out of my mind, and this one looks like it'll fit the bill. I'm in the mood for something funny too. We will see how it measures up.

One of the stories just described Mt Vesuvius erupting as "BOOOOMMM!" ... like, really? At this point I'm only reading for Kate Quinn. Depending on how it ends this may be the last short story compilation that I read.

This has been on my list for a while, since Kate Quinn and Stephanie Dray are some of my favorite historical fiction writers. This book is hard to find, but it's on Kindle Unlimited! So far it's just okay. I wasn't super impressed by the first story but hopefully the later ones will be better.

Reading this one because my dad recommended it. The chapters are short so it reads fast. So far I like it, the writing is simple but engaging.

You know when you reach the part in a book where it's been so great so far, you're not sure how it could possibly continue to get better? And if it doesn't get better then it will surely get worse? And you're tempted to just stop reading now while it's awesome so you can cling to that feeling instead of letting it crumble away disappointingly until the end... Yeah. I think I'm at that point. And I'm a little sad.

Finally! I was worried we weren't going to see Kaladin in action at all in this book. I'm so ready for this epic fight (and the avalanche of action inevitable for the final part of this book)

Ugh this book has been a struggle. So far throughout the series there have been so many mysteries about the heralds and the past with only hints along the way, but now it's the last book so ALL of the information is being spewed at me to fill in the gaps... It's too much to comprehend at times and a little frustrating. I feel like Sanderson could have given us a little more before now.

Reading this in honor of Jane Austen's 250th birthday - I feel like Sense and Sensibility is often overlooked in favor of Pride and Prejudice, but I'm glad I'm giving it another chance and taking my time enjoying this one. It may not be as witty as P&P but it's still making me laugh!

Picked this up on a whim for a light and easy read. So far I can't figure out what the genre/theme is - romance? Mystery? Family drama? The only recurring theme in each perspective seems to be that men are pigs. Otherwise it seems like it'll be a quick fun read. We shall see.

I started reading Wind and Truth and it became apparent I was missing something... I was told that I should read "Warbreaker" first. Well. I was annoyed to have to read yet another LONG book by Sanderson in order to understand an EVEN LONGER book, but then I started it and hey this one is actually pretty good. So far I'm hooked!

Reading this for "spooky season" but I also really like this author (and I'll admit I'm a sucker for vampire stuff, pun intended 😜). So far I like it, there is some mystery per usual with vampire books but more gritty. It's set in Mexico City which is different than most of the American vampire books/tv I've seen so it's a refreshing change

End of part three... Wow. So far I think I like this one better than Oathbringer, but we will see how everything wraps up. One good thing - Navani and her fabrials are finally interesting to me. Previous books I couldn't care less. Now I see the point and all of the foundational information is useful now. Sanderson is a master of world building.
