Thus far, The Lady seems to have a vendetta with the King of Oluwan and High emperor of Aritsar. We don’t know what the beef is yet, but The Lady, Tarisai mom, has ordered her to get close with the son, Crown Prince Ekundayo, then kill the father. The world building is a bit overwhelming but considering this is a fantasy, that’s to be expected. Learning the realm names and how to pronouns them is also hard.

This book is literally making me cackle as I read it. I love the close proximity of the four friends and how this mysterious bubblegum gives them superpowers. It’s a very fun read. When the friends get to the manufacturing place for the bubblegum and discover there are underground tunnels, that reminds me of Stranger Things When the ice cream workers discover the tunnels underneath the mall.
