I keep thinking this series CANT possibly get any better. Then I’m proven wrong. Omfg. I love that fucking raven.

Very insta love. The pretense of the plot was intriguing but the execution leaves something to be desired.

Love the intrigue and world building so far. Great premise.

OK now I’m really frustrated because and spoiler alert, this 22-year-old got a 15 year old pregnant and that’s just not OK. The author did not have to make them those ages.

I love that we get to see a different demographic and I really like the concept of monsters. The only gripe I currently have is the relationship between the two main characters and the fact that he was 18 and she was 14 when they started some thing. Since this is a ya book, I think that was a really horrible thing to include especially when the ages were not that relevant and they could’ve been closer in age.

Mare has a very interesting thought process. Overly confident one second and then under confident the next. Idk how I feel about it.

Love her and cal. I’m over the best friend pining over the FMC trope tho. NGL. Kilorn could have just been her best friend and left it at that but we had to do stupid things.

I will say that I’m kind of over Mares inner monologue because she’s kind of all over the place. The book picks up really well around page 200 and I think there could’ve been a lot of fluff cut from the beginning.

Love that we get to feel just as paranoid as Mare because of her trauma. She literally has no clue who to trust and can’t rely on her instincts.

The TENSION. I love it.
