From a teenage perspective, I find this book to be very relatable, especially in comparison to my high school years. So far, I’m really enjoying this book and it reads like diary entries. Maybe that was the point of the book anyways. However, as I’m reading, I can’t help but feel sad for what I know is about to come. Finny will die and said in the beginning of the book so I just feel melancholic with that

There is one line in this book on page 289 where Grim says “ I am her monster” that reminds me of a line that jacks, the Prince of hearts in ‘once upon a broken heart’ had said to Evangeline… Who also has pink hair and loves fairy tales. He said something like ‘ I might be a monster Evangeline, but I am your monster’. Overall, I just feel like the story isn’t really put together very well.

As I’m reading this, it feels as though the author was just trying to reach a word count when she was writing. The way that these scenes play out is kind of awkward and it just feels like the author got off track and zoned out when she was riding, but then forgot to edit it. The endings of these tales is giving a children show that’s like ‘drats, you escape this trial, but I’ll get you next time my pretty’

this book is very fast pace. I honestly think the pacing is kind of sloppy and it feels unfinished. There are scenes in the book that feels like it should have much more substance to it. and maybe it did at one point, but it feels like the author cut a bunch of it out and forgot to edit the book to make the scenes make sense and now the finished product doesn’t feel complete. The writing feels like childish

I actually like Miss Huda. I think she just needs a friend and maybe, when Alizah takes back her kingdom, Miss huda will be her most trusty/ important lady’s maid or council person

I like the homage to classic fairytales such as Snow White. I think Serena having a pure heart is very fairytale like. I LOVE how forgiving Serena is. This attractive boy lied to her and imposed on her life. She said she shouldn’t be so forgiving but because he’s cute and gave her tea, she folded immediately! I’m like… Same girl, that would be me

The plot of Serena Gray reminds me of a WEBTOON that I used to read a few years ago, called forever after. Basically the whole plot was that this normal girl and this normal guy get stuck in fairytales that they have to complete. I am curious who this mysterious shadow is who cursed Serena and who is Gray or WHAT is he? Is he a fae? Also, maybe I misunderstood, but is Serena going to forget Gray in every tale?

I’m really enjoying this book despite not being that far in it. I love how optimistic Serena is. And despite not really knowing Kai, I already like him and I love how hopeful Serena is when it comes to love and fairytales. I also like the addition of religious zealots who feel the need ti threaten anyone who does not believe in the same things they believe. I haven’t read much like that so it’s refreshing

So far, I’m not really interested. Too many secrets are being kept that it’s honestly annoying and the things that are being revealed, I don’t fully understand it and I don’t really get that shocked factor I’m supposed to have. I did just get to the part where the Titans have been revealed to not be evil.
