Reading for science, I promise I’m not at risk of becoming Catholic

One day I might actually finish this, but boy has it been a trudge

I just finished part one, and will be continuing to the next part of the book. And the writing has been beautiful. And the story feels like fairy tale. I can feel the echos and vibrations of Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy in this very rich narrative. That said, considering where my own personal boundaries on sensual content and gore, I have been a little uncomfortable with parts of this work so far.

As a general rule, I don’t include the Bible in my good reads because it’s a discipline more than a leisure. But I really wanted to be held accountable to my reading, because I want to read it in its entirety for Lent.

I really didn’t care for the last 2 McMurtrys I read this year, but 80 pages a day gets this back to the library in time and I can move away from the American author

This has been on my TBR for over a year now and I finally found it in the print format- paperback. Looking forward to diving into that one.

We’ve left theology and stepped into science. I’m falling behind.
