Some thriller!

I'm rather enjoying this listen. Alex Wyndham does his marvelous job, as usual. I haven't read or listened to any story revolving around The English Civil War during the 1600's. Her deeply-rich characterizations propel the story forward. Those who are caught up in the conflict must take sides.

It's funny that both Davis's novel and Jarecki's have a Native American as heroine -- and I'm reading them at the same time. This is a slower paced read, with a lot more pages. Lots of description and setting the plot and subplots. Very enjoyable.

Whoa! This isn't at all like Jarecki's historical romance. Yes, it has a sexy Scot, but that's about the extent of it. We've so recently ALL heard the term 'locked and loaded'. I found it in the book. Lots of acronyms I'm learning, too. Didn't know what IEDs are, now I do. Jarecki puts you right into the heart of battle WITH a romance. Can't beat that to get your blood pumping!

It's as good as I remember the series. I'm just eating it up and won't be long until I finish.
