Ok my aim of finishing this book before year end was not met. Seriously the whole “no I can’t be with you but I want to be with you. I will lose control, I’m not myself. You should leave me” shenanigan with Xaden and Violet is getting tiring. How many times do I have to read about it. And all the other details are just inconsequential to the plot.

The story is never ending. How do I read this faster

It has been 9 months since I started this book and I still cannot finish it. It’s just too long and it’s boring. Kingdom of Ash was longer but not boring. I want to finish this by year end but it’s so much effort!

Ugh I knew Pen was sus. I knew she still wanted to keep Lukas on the leash but at the same time, I understand what she’s feeling. She’s possessive and don’t I know it. Reading it from a third party POV, she seems pathetic to me. So note to self

Honestly it’s not that kinky. Definitely not 50 shades level. He just likes to be in charge and dominant, which is kinda hot. But they don’t do anything that kinky.

Ok I always thought it was weird that Pen was still friendly with Lukas after breaking up with him and AFTER knowing Lukas has a thing with Scarlett. Texting him to come and bail her from a car breakdown. Putting her arms around his waist knowing that Scarlett and Lukas has a thing. But her interactions with Scarlett has been nice and friendly so…now that I’m reading about Pen being a back stabbing bitch….

This is something I’m wondering - how has Lukas been yearning for Scarlett since 2 years ago (when she first started college)?? He was with Pen at that point. Just wanted to read something fun you know. Saw someone’s review in this book and she said it was LOL funny. The first chapter ended with a kiss, which is quite fast. I don’t like the writing style - it’s written in a third person.

Ok almost halfway through the book and it’s just “I hate her” “I want her” “I shouldn’t” “fuck it”. I normally like this push and pull but the writing is so repetitive. There’s no real plot. I don’t even know how this has more than one book.

This is my first dark romance and I didn’t know what a dark romance actually is. So it’s romance with dark themes? Idk if I like the MMC - he’s a murderer??? The FMC is not that likable either because I think she slept with the MMC’s dad…anyway it’s not that addictive but a pretty easy read. The writing may be…too simple

Honestly this is not bad. It’s an easy read but it’s not stupid. Bought this on a whim because I wanted to read something in Phuket by the pool. Didn’t manage to read it by the pool (had WhatsApp calls instead) but read it a bit on the couch and on the plane.

I wasn’t planning to read this book but wanted something simple and quick to read. Was at kinokuniya and saw that this was just published. I’m 88 pages in and I don’t think this is the typical Ali Hazelwood book. I can’t put it into words how different it is but so far I like this book.
