Surprisingly good book. Enjoyed it.

Interesting story of a girl growing up in a coastal Texas oil field town. It was originally published in 1941. It has been republished by Double Mountain Books, which is dedicated to reintroducing out-of-print classics of the American West.

This is a real page turner! The author caught my attention at the very beginning, and hasn't lost it yet.

What a lively discussion we had tonight at book club. We all loved this book - the story, the characters, the lyrical writing. I highly recommend Wherever There Is Light.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand what it was like for Gulf Coast Mississippi when Katrina struck. The author takes you to ground zero as the emergency support system prepares for landfall, and then deals with the total devastation.
