fav chapter so far was the spice chapter that shit slammed

the part about the chimpanzees loving lemons bc they taste good but also because they remembered the joy of eating lemons together brought a tear to my eye

they got me with this chapter i’m ngl

every chapter ends with something that’s supposed to be a mic drop and it’s starting to piss me off i’m ngl

getting better, but whoever edited this book needs a new job. these sentences are far too long and far too wordy. i feel like no one edited it, peter levenda and tom delonge just kinda shot the shit one night, wrote their connections down, and then it got published. which is really weird.

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm like idk there’s a lot being said here…………….. i think the cargo cult idea carries a lot of weight though i rock with that. i think i’m pretty inept when it comes to religious history though so a lot of this just reads to me as a lot of red yarn but maybe to someone with more knowledge it’s coherent
