The first few chapters were rather longwinded and slow-paced, but now I'm hooked by the nostalgic, pensive atmosphere of the book. It compels me to romanticize even the mundane aspects of my life. Reading about the complex relationships the Hailsham students had with one another makes me more appreciative of my friends and the time we have left. Never thought I'd say this, but I don't want this book to end.
