OMG, our heroine is dying! Quick, life saving action (that obviously requires naughty spicy physical connection) must be taken!! *Important person walks into room & sees everyone in compromising position. OMG, we're all so embarrassed, what a social faux pas!! Um guys, I thought she was dying? Am I just supposed to assume it worked, or...? Plot hole much!

Dread, so much creeping dread.

I can tell this book is going to fork me up, man. But I can't resist the concept of pregnancy as horror. I anticipate many nightmares soon. Lord help me with this one!

Okay, I think I just had to get used to the writing/narration style. There are lots of memories & flashbacks that aren't explicitly separated but instead flow with the rest of the text. More playing with the themes of time travel, I think.

So far, I don't love it. Not sure if it's actually written this way, or if the narrator is reading this way, but it feels like a giant run on sentence. No natural breaks in rhythm, she barely seems to stop to breathe. Giving me a very frenetic, anxious feeling. And hard to keep track of changes in scene/action because I can't hear/feel the paragraph breaks.
